01 —When to call us

Does this sound familiar?

You don’t need proof to talk to us — only a question you can’t answer on your own.

  • Stock, cash or raw material is going missing, and the books don’t explain it.
  • A competitor seems to know your pricing, tenders or product plans.
  • A vendor, distributor or contractor is billing for work that may not be happening.
  • A senior employee has resigned, and you suspect they took clients or data.
  • You are about to sign with a new partner, distributor or acquisition and want to know who they really are.
  • An employee on long medical leave may be working somewhere else.

If any of this feels close, a short confidential conversation is a sensible first step.

02 —What we look into

The ground we cover.

Agreed with you in writing before work begins. You choose what matters; we leave out what doesn’t.

  • Internal fraud and theft

Pilferage, expense fraud, ghost vendors and kickbacks — traced through document review, discreet inquiries and observation.

  • Information and IP leaks

We work out how pricing, designs or customer lists are leaving the business, and examine company-owned devices with your IT team.

  • Due diligence

Partners, distributors and acquisition targets checked through MCA filings, litigation history, promoter background and a visit to the offices or plant.

  • Vendor and dealer verification

Site visits confirm that suppliers, dealers and franchisees exist, operate at the address given and have the capacity they claim.

  • Moonlighting and misuse of confidential information

We document whether an employee is working elsewhere during paid time or leave, or whether a former employee is using your confidential information or approaching your clients in breach of their terms — through observation in public places and open sources.

  • Counterfeits and trademark misuse

Market surveys and test purchases establish who is selling copies of your product, and where the supply comes from.

03 —How we work the case

Careful, lawful, step by step.

Every step is documented and agreed with you. If something can’t be done lawfully, we say so before you commit.

  1. Scope it with one decision-maker

We agree the questions, the limits and a single point of contact — usually the promoter, a director or the head of HR or legal.

  2. Start with your own records

Accounts, CCTV, access logs and email on company systems — records the business is entitled to examine.

  3. Investigate outside the building

Records searches, market inquiries, vendor visits and, where needed, surveillance in public places.

  4. Report for action

A structured report of findings, evidence and gaps, written so management and counsel can decide on disciplinary, civil or criminal steps.

04 —What you receive

Facts you can act on.

Every finding is sourced and dated, and anything we could not confirm is marked as such.

Contents of your file

  1. An investigation report with findings, supporting documents and an evidence index
  2. Company and litigation records from MCA and court databases
  3. Site-visit notes and photographs for vendor and dealer checks
  4. Forensic findings from company-owned devices, where in scope
  5. A briefing for management — and for your counsel if action follows
  6. Practical recommendations to close the gap the case exposed

Typical timelineDue diligence usually takes 5–10 working days. Fraud and leak investigations, 2–6 weeks.

05 —Where we draw the line

What we will never do.

Indian law protects everyone’s privacy — including the person you are asking about. These limits protect your case, too.

  • We do not access employees’ personal phones, email or social media accounts.
  • We do not obtain anyone’s bank statements or call records.
  • We never pose as police, tax officers or any government official.

06 —Illustrative case files

Typical cases, illustrated.

Composites, not real clients’ cases — but the methods are exactly how we work.

  • Scenario 03

Corporate & legal, Naroda GIDC, Ahmedabad, 5 weeks

    Undercut on every tender

A manufacturer lost four tenders in a row to the same competitor, each time by a fraction of a per cent.

These case files are illustrative — composites written to show typical cases and the methods we use. They are not records of real clients, and the people in them are invented.

Questions

Before you decide.

Straight answers about corporate investigation. If yours isn’t here, ask us directly — in confidence.

Can you investigate without our staff finding out?

Yes. We agree a single point of contact, keep the circle small and do most of the work outside your premises. Staff interviews, if any, happen only at a stage you choose.

Can you examine an employee’s phone or personal email?

Not personal devices or accounts — those need the owner’s consent. We can examine company-owned laptops, phones and email accounts in line with your IT policy, with every step documented.

How do you protect our information?

We sign a non-disclosure agreement before you share anything sensitive. Case files are codenamed, stored encrypted and seen only by the investigators working on them.

Do you work with our lawyers or auditors?

Often. We can report directly to your counsel if they prefer, and fit into an existing audit or legal process rather than run beside it.

What does due diligence on a company cover?

Registration and filings on MCA, directors and their other companies, litigation history, GST registration status, a visit to the claimed office or plant, and discreet inquiries in the market. It can extend to the promoters personally.
